This was a group project done in collaboration with Ngāti Toa. The brief looked at creating decolonised architecture. Our approach was to take harbour waste caused due to earthworks and re-purpose it as a useful building material. We tested local silt and clays to produce ceramic 3D printed tiles.

Processing harbour silt to be combined with clay as an aggregate.

Testing extrusion capabilities of silt and clay composite mix.

Finished 3D printed glazed and fired tile.

Overlaying glazed tiles to form a mock up of a cladded surface.
